A little confused

Well I will give a little information for right now. I don't think anyone reads my blog, but just incase, I won't give out too much detail. So I am faced with this situation right. My friend wants to go to the movies on Friday night. All of his other friends are going to see a movie and they have someone they have invited but he doesn't know who to invite. Well I want to just invite myself to go and help him out so he doesn't looks silly. My dilemma is this; I don't want him to look needy and like he has no friends or anything. Can you see my problem? I want to help, but I'm afraid that helping might make it worse. If there is anyone out there who has some insight, Email me and I will give you the real details and we can come to a conclusion.
